Dr. Jorge A. Aguilar, M.D.

Dr. Jorge A. Aguilar, MD., founder and owner of Beaches Internal Medicine, is Board Certified in both Internal Medicine and pediatrics. His expert care has gained him recognition as a Health Grades Physician and recipient of the Patient’s Choice Award for 2008 – 2009. Dr. Aguilar graduated from medical school in 1980 from Catholic University of Cordoba in Argentina. He then prepared for further studies by completing his residency and internship in New York. He held a double Attending Teaching Position in the Department of Internal Medicine and Ambulatory Care at Lincoln Hospital the largest Institution affiliated with New York Medical College. Dr. Aguilar’s thorough approach to both the diagnosis and treatment of his patients has resulted in a thriving practice based on competent and compassionate care. As a bilingual physician, fluent in both English and Spanish, Dr. Aguilar is able to connect with a variety of patients with diverse cultural needs. He and his wife Gina have two wonderful sons, Ian and Joshua, and are happy to call Ponte Vedra their home.



Dr. Karen McCarthy, M.D.

Dr. Karen McCarthy graduated summa cum laude from Buffalo State College. She graduated from medical school at Downstate Medical Center in New York. She completed one year of residency in Radiology at the Columbia Presbyterian College of Physicians & Surgeons in New York City. She then completed her residency in Internal Medicine at St. Vincent’s Hospital in New York.

Dr. McCarthy is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and worked with Beaches Family Medicine from 1991 to 2010. Dr. McCarthy also established the City Rescue Mission Clinic in 1993 and the Trinity Rescue Mission Clinic in 2004, where she volunteers her medical skills at each mission on a weekly basis.

She has been honored by the Florida Medical Association in 1993 for volunteer her work with the homeless. Dr. McCarthy received a Jefferson Award at WTLV-TV’s “12 Who Care” in September, 1995. She was an Olympic Torch Bearer for the 1996 Olympics. She was also an EVE finalist in 1998 and received the Duval County Medical Society Community Service Award in 2002.

In 2008, Dr. McCarthy created Healing Hope For Haiti Ministries (http://www.healinghopeforhaiti.com) offering free medical clinics to the Haitian people several times a year.

Dr. McCarthy has written a new book entitled "Restoration After The Battle". This book is available at (https://www.createspace.com/3963152) and Amazon.com. Proceeds go to missions.

Dr. McCarthy is happily married and has two children. She lives at the beach and is an active member of a local church.



Dr. Michael Fialho, M.D.

Dr. Michael Fialho is a native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He is a Maxima Cum Laude graduate of LaSalle University in Philadelphia, with a bachelor's degree in Biology. He went on to attend medical school at Jefferson Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, graduating Summa Cum Laude in 1994. At this point, he relocated to Jacksonville to complete an Internal Medicine Residency at the Mayo Clinic Jacksonville. He was presented with the "Golden Apple" award for teaching and pursued research in Primary Pulmonary Hypertension. Graduating from the Mayo Clinic program in 1997, he has been practicing community Internal Medicine ever since in Jacksonville Beach, Florida. Dr. Fialhlo is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and affiliated with Baptist Medical Center -- Beaches. He is married with three sons and speaks sub-fluent Portugese as a second language.



Howard Green, D.O.

Howard Green, D.O. is a board certified Osteopathic Family Physician and has been practicing in the Jacksonville area since 1991. Prior to that, he practiced Family Medicine in the U.S. Army Medical Corp and served honorably during Desert Storm. Dr. Green is happily married with two daughters and has a beautiful baby grandson. His wife, Michele, is an R.N. and employed at Baptist Medical Center – Beaches Division, as an assistant nurse manager. Both his daughters work in the health care field. Dr. Green has extensive experience in family and internal medicine. His practice interests include sports medicine and preventive medicine.
